Animal Care & Control Events

  1. Summer Empty the Shelter Adoption Event

    July 13, 2019, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ West Valley Animal Care Center

The BISSEL Pet Foundation will cover the costs of adoptions fees of dogs and cats Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13, at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to empty their shelters during its busiest time of the year. The two county shelters are among several rescues and shelters offering fee-waived adoptions thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation. The special does not include Shelter Super Heroes, but does cover the mandatory $22 licensing fee for dogs. Over the past several years, BISSELL Pet Foundation has received feedback from its shelter partners across the country who experience overcrowding after Independence Day. Why? Intake rates skyrocket after July 4 because fireworks can inflict fear in pets, causing them to get loose/runaway.
