ADMITTING: working alongside our Case Information Specialists, who admit and release decedents. (flexible 5-hour shifts; open 24/7).
EXAMINATIONS: working alongside our Forensic Technicians to prepare bodies for autopsy, take fingerprints, move decedents to and from coolers, and restock exam supplies. (shifts start at 7:00 am any day of the week and end between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm).
IDENTIFICATION: working alongside our SR. MDI/Identification Coordinator to coordinate identification efforts, database entry for Unidentified cases, DNA processing, and speaking with families (educational background in a similar field is strongly preferred, shifts Mon-Thurs 09:00am-3:00pm).
INVESTIGATIONS: working alongside our Medicolegal Death Investigators during death investigations. You will be responding to death scenes, assisting with body manipulation/lifting, specimen collection, and requesting and filing records. Volunteers will be exposed to decomposition, insects, and adverse environments. (10-hour shifts; open 24/7)
LAB: working alongside our Histology and Accessioning Technicians performing various duties including, but not limited to: specimen disposal, specimen, histology slide organization, and supply restocking (flexible shifts between 7 am to 3 pm Monday-Fri).
