The Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association recently awarded its 2018 APA Award for Transportation Planning to the Maricopa County Department of Transportation's Active Transportation Plan (ATP). The award was presented to MCDOT's Systems Planning Branch representatives at a special ceremony on Thursday, November 8.
Active transportation is movement powered by people, not machines. MCDOT's Active Transportation Plan (ATP) focuses on walking and bicycling, including connectivity between modes (including vehicles and transit) on County roadways.
