All employees (including contract and temporary) and the members of their household of any age, including domestic partners, elderly parents, stepchildren, and others such as children in college who may be out of state, may use the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services.

The EAP provides a full range of counseling and referral services for individual, family and marital concerns, stress and job-related matters, child and domestic abuse, chemical and alcohol dependency assessment, and legal and financial issues. Counseling is available by phone or in person, depending on your preference.

Child Care Benefits

Maricopa County supports working parents with affordable child care options.  An on-site child care facility in downtown Phoenix will open in 2025.  In the meantime, families can get discounted childcare at any KinderCare location Valleywide.

Coming Soon! Maricopa County Childcare Center: MCKids Club

On Wednesday, October 18 the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved a $10 million contract with KinderCare Learning Companies to operate a future childcare center. MCKids Club will be located on 441 W Madison St, Phoenix, AZ 85003 (Southeast corner of 4th Avenue and Madison). Formerly known as the “Press Room”. 

Pre-enrollment will begin in the 2nd half of 2024.

Even though MCKids Club isn't quite ready yet, county employees won't have to wait much longer for affordable child care. KinderCare will provide county employees with a 10% discount on full-time, part-time, or drop-in tuition at any of their facilities starting November 1, 2023.

Tuition Benefit FAQs - At a Glance

Does the Tuition Benefit discount apply to all children in my family? Yes! The Tuition Benefit program includes children ages 6 weeks to 12 years for whom you have legal custody. Ages served may vary by location.
Can the discount be combined with other savings offers, such as sibling discounts?Only one recurring tuition savings may be applied to a family’s account. Families who qualify for more than one tuition savings offer will be allowed to choose the best one for them.
How do I find information on tuition rates and operating hours?Tuition rates and operating hours vary by location. Contact a KinderCare center or site directly for specific program information, to verify participation in the tuition savings program, and to schedule a tour.
Do you offer back to school programs?Many KinderCare centers are working directly with local public schools to navigate school age integration within their safety and curricular strategies. Additionally, most centers will have a back-to-school program for students between 5-12 years old (full and part time options).
What if my child is already enrolled in a KinderCare, CCLC or Champions program?Simply let the Center or Site Director know that you are eligible for a Tuition Benefit through Maricopa County, provide proof of employment, and ask to begin saving 10% on your child’s tuition. Tuition savings cannot be pre-dated or retroactive.
What identification is considered acceptable proof of employment?A current paystub or employee identification badge is acceptable proof of employment. You may black out private information when submitting a copy of your paystub. Proof of employment will be validated annually.
