Maricopa County (MC) recognizes that construction activities can be a nuisance to those living nearby. MC strives to minimize the impact of these necessary construction projects to the greatest extent possible while still maintaining project efficiency and fiscal responsibility. Here are some activities MC has initiated be a good neighbor to those near the Queen Creek Landfill.

A Community Meeting was held on 9/27/2022 to discuss the discovery of tetrachloroethene (PCE) at a concentration above the Aquifer Water Quality Standard (AWQS) of 0.005 mg/L. The Queen Creek Landfill is owned by Maricopa County and managed by the County Environmental Services Department.

Meeting Purpose: 1) Provide information on the current status of testing and test results; 2) Discuss current actions being taken by the County and County contractors; 3) Outline next steps currently under evaluation, and 4) answer questions.
