Early Head Start Teacher

As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will provide active learning by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate individualized experiences and creating a safe and nurturing environment in which 0 to 3-year-old children can enhance their development and skills. You will also plan and participate in parent education, parent involvement, and family support activities. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will help build stronger families and brighter tomorrows for our youngest residents of Maricopa County.

Family Support Specialist

Head Start Teacher

As a Head Start Teacher, you will promote active learning in a preschool classroom by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, individualized experiences and creating a safe and nurturing environment for children. We will count on you to use cognitive-developmental approaches to enhance the student’s language and literacy skills. You will also have the opportunity to plan and participate in parent education, parent engagement, and family support activities. 

Professional Development Coach

Site Supervisor

In your role as a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, and supervising a Birth to Five or Head Start teaching team, by overseeing the planning and daily operations of an infant/toddler and/or preschool classroom where assigned.

Teacher Assistant

As a Teacher Assistant, you will support teaching teams in promoting active learning in the classroom for infants and toddlers or preschool-age children. We will count on you to support developmentally appropriate, individualized experiences and create a safe and nurturing environment. You will be part of a team that helps build stronger families and brighter tomorrows for our youngest residents of Maricopa County. 

Eligible teachers and site supervisors can earn a $2,000 hiring bonus and eligible teacher assistants can receive a $1,000 hiring bonus.

Maricopa County Head Start Locations

Maricopa County Early Head Start and Head Start are offered by the Early Education Division of the Human Services Department of Maricopa County. The Early Education Division is dedicated to ensuring children have the knowledge and skills to be successful in school and life through service delivery to children and families in core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being while engaging parents as partners every step of the way. Head Start encompasses Head Start preschool programs, which primarily serve 3- and 4-year-old children, and Early Head Start programs for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women.
