Maricopa County Human Services Department recently ended its Housing Opportunity for Service Disabled Veterans Program, which was made available through the Arizona Attorney General's Office and the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community.
The program's intent was to help veterans with service-connected disabilities stay in their homes by providing zero interest, zero payment, 7 year forgivable loans to make needed accessibility improvements to the homes.
Arizona Attorney General Office Program Accomplishments
Nearly $1.4 million in funds awarded.
Twenty-two disabled veteran's homes received comprehensive rehabilitation.
Program allowed veterans and their families to remain comfortable in their homes.
Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community Program Accomplishments
$143,000 in funds awarded.
Five disabled veteran's homes rehabilitated.
Improvements included ADA improvements to bathrooms and kitcehsn, flooring, and ne air conditioning and related duct work improvements.
