Municipality Resources

Now is a good time to work with your emergency managers to review emergency and continuity of operations plans. If you’re in communications with businesses and employers in your area, share resources on preparedness and mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

Closed PODs

Municipalities, hospitals, utilities and other critical infrastructures need to continue operations during a public health emergency. Traditionally, workers would have to leave their job function to go pick up lifesaving medications but with a Closed POD Partnership, workers get their medications at the office. Closed POD Partnerships allow for continuity of operations during a public health emergency. In addition, many businesses will benefit from the volunteer match and corporate social responsibility opportunities that come with a partnership.

Face Covering Regulations for Maricopa County

The mask regulation approved by the Board of Supervisors in June 2020 is no longer in effect.  When Governor Ducey signed Executive Order 2021-06 on March 25, 2021, it nullified Maricopa County’s mask mandate so it is no longer enforceable except in county buildings.  Public Health regularly updates the Board of Supervisors and County leadership on key data related to the spread of COVID-19 and vaccination rates of residents. Masks are still required for employees and the public inside all County facilities.

Until we reach a lower level of community spread, Maricopa County Department of Public Health continues to encourage people to maintain mitigation efforts such as wearing masks in public places, maintaining six feet of distance from people not in your immediate household, and avoiding large gatherings where you will have a greater risk of exposure.

Public Health makes COVID-19 data publicly available. Please visit these pages where you can learn the level of disease in your city, ZIP code or school district: School metrics
