Owners must request construction inspections through their authorized professional (contractor, engineer or architect). Refer to your construction authorization from the Department for requirements. A new facility must receive final written approval of construction and pay for and receive a valid operating permit from the Department before opening.
The Department conducts unscheduled compliance inspections of permitted swimming pools and other bathing facilities throughout the year. Inspectors check the facility to ensure that it is operated and maintained in compliance with the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code.
A copy of each inspection is furnished to the owner at the email, facsimile or postal address on file with the Department. Inspection results are also available on the Department website.
Advisory Inspection Upon Request
You may request an advisory/punch list construction or operational inspection for a fee of $135 per body of water. To submit a request, send an email to Maricopa Public Swimming Pools with the name and address of the property, your contact information and when you would like to schedule the inspection.
Please allow at least 72 hours in advance for scheduling. We will respond to confirm your request and provide payment instructions. Please note the fee must be received before the inspection can take place.
