Marcus A. “Tony” Del Sol and Mark Clark. $1250 each. Del Sol is a maintenance inspection supervisor with the county Department of Transportation and Clark retired from MCDOT as a construction management specialist. Both men designed and proposed reusable raised pavement marker covers which reduce substantially the cost for existing plastic covers during the application of preservative seals to county roadways. The new steel covers protect very well and can be used again for future road surfacing projects. The new steel covers saved an immediate $22,270 and the environment since they can be reused and not disposed of in a landfill. Del Sol has worked for the county for 20 years and lives in Avondale. Clark retired from the county after 29 years and lives in Peoria, AZ.
