Rock Art of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
September 7 Saturday 8:00 am Rock Art of Spur Cross (moderate) The petroglyphs found in Spur Cross were created hundreds of years ago by the Hohokam people. Come and walk in their footsteps as we visit a few of the more impressive sites in the park during this two-hour hike. No dogs on this hike please.

Nocturnal Nature Hike! - Cave Creek

I case you hadn’t noticed, it’s cooler after the sun sets. And that’s when things get busy, in the desert. Things go unnoticed in the dark, lurking in the shadows, under the starlit skies. So let’s take a short hike and see if we can notice the “unnoticed”. Meet Ranger Mark at the Nature Center for this Nocturnal adventure. Bring your camera, flashlight, blacklight, and plenty of water. Dress for adventure, including sturdy shoes.

Archery 101 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in archery? Curious about how to shoot a bow? Come to Usery Park and find out! You will discover how fun archery really is! Participants will experience a fun and safe introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment will be provided. This class is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Archery Range. 7:30-9pm

Summer Night Ride Series- Pemberton- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
The summer night mountain bike series will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. All riders must have a helmet, a lighting system designed for mountain biking and battery power for 3 hours of riding. Riders must sign-in and sign-out, two hours are allowed to ride the Pemberton Trail. It is highly recommended that you ride this trail in day light before coming out for a night ride. The sign sheets are available at 6:30 for riders who might need extra time. NO RIDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO START AFTER 8:00 p.m.

Bug Bonanza! - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Join us on a bug adventure in the desert! First we will start off with a presentation on different types of bugs that live in the desert and then we will get up close and personal with some special friends brought to us by bug experts from ASU. Next, we will try our luck finding creepy crawlers around the trails. This is a hit with the kids and you will be surprised how much you will enjoy it too! Bring flashlights, nets if you have them and go easy on the bug spray!! Bug guides will be on hand. Meet at the Nature Center.
