Fridays Fitness Hike - North Trailhead- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. Meet at the North Trailhead.

Animal Tracks Discovery - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Lets go looking for animal tracks! We will explore the desert floor to discover what types of animals live in the Sonoran Desert. Be prepared to get a little dirty and wear comfortable shoes. Meet at the Nature Center.

Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
September 6 Friday 8:00 am Fitness Friday (moderate) Get your day started with a two-mile brisk, non-interpretive walk along the Metate Trail. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to begin or add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

On this day, honor, remember and celebrate the lives of the fallen military men and women who served in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Stop by the Nathan Martens Arizona Memorial to view the spectacular tribute listing the names of the fallen Arizona military men and women.

Movie Night in the Park: “Sonoran Desert – A Violent Eden” - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Our Sonoran Desert reveals a world of wonders – some pleasant and some violent. This exciting presentation will showcase some of our desert’s most unusual plants and animals. Then watch us feed our snakes after the movie! Feel free to bring snacks and drinks with you (no glass bottles), otherwise, concessions are available. Note: Due to some violent animal scenes, this movie may not be suitable for young children. Location: Nature Center.
