Fridays Fitness Hike - Dixie Mine Trailhead (End of Golden Eagle Blvd) - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. Meet at the Dixie Mine Trailhead-- at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd, in Fountain Hills (outside of park).

Fitness Friday at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
August 23 Friday 7:00 am Fitness Friday (moderate) Get your day started with a two-mile brisk, non-interpretive walk along the Metate Trail. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to begin or add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

Thank you for supporting Maricopa County Parks and Recreation.*** Health and fitness go together hand and hand, but instead of being in a gym all day, head outside and take pleasure in the scenic beauty of the San Tans. Breathe in the fresh air, take in the sights and enjoy a few fitness facts along the way. On this 3.5-mile fitness hike we will be discussing the best hikes of Maricopa County Parks and Recreation. This program is part of a hiking series that will take place on select Friday’s each month with a new fitness facts topic for each hike. This is recommended for advanced hikers only as we will be keeping a faster pace of 3-4 miles per hour during the hike

Home School Program with the Science Center: "3-2-1 Blast Off!" - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Come and learn how rockets fly! You will then design and build your own water rocket. At the end of the class, you will launch it and see how far it flies! Note: You MUST provide your own 20 oz. soda bottle from a Coke or Pepsi product. Water bottles and other brands will not work. NOTE: Pre-registration is required through the Arizona Science Center. To register, please call the Arizona Science Center at 602-716-2000 ext. 229, or email Arizona Science Center members: $20 for the first child, $10 for the second child, and $5 for each additional child. Non-members: $30 for the first child, $10 for the second child, and $5 for each additional child. There is also a $6 per vehicle entry fee to enter the park unless you have a county parks annual pass. Location: Usery Park Nature Center.

Munchtime Matinee Movie! - Cave Creek Regional Park

Bring the kids to the park for some fun at the playground, then bring them inside the “air-conditioned” Nature Center for a fun family friendly feature film and a picnic lunch! You bring the kids and snacks and we’ll provide the entertainment!

Family Moonlight Walk at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Walking the Waterfall trail in the moonlight will give you a different perspective on the beauty of the Uplands Desert. This is a relatively flat trail but adequate hiking shoes are required (No open toed shoes). Meet at Area 6. No dogs please. FAMILY EVENT

Scorpion Night Walk - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
We will set off on an easy trail to look for scorpions on this one-hour night walk. This walk will be fun for all ages as we look for these desert dwellers in their natural habitat. Bring your sense of adventure, water and a black light if you have one. We will meet at the Nature Center.

Summer Night Ride Series- Pemberton- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
The summer night mountain bike series will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. All riders must have a helmet, a lighting system designed for mountain biking and battery power for 3 hours of riding. Riders must sign-in and sign-out, two hours are allowed to ride the Pemberton Trail. It is highly recommended that you ride this trail in day light before coming out for a night ride. The sign sheets are available at 6:30 for riders who might need extra time. NO RIDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO START AFTER 8:00 p.m.
