Hohokam Houses - the Ruins of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
August 2 Saturday 7:00 am Ruins of Spur Cross (moderate) Join us for this 2.5 mile hike that will introduce you to the rich archaeological history of the area. See evidence of prehistoric Hohokam dwellings and learn about their culture as we trek on up to one of their mesa-top compounds. Bring plenty of water.

Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday Series at Estrella Mountain Regional Park

Psst…have you heard the news? The Estrella Mountain Regional Park is getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer! That’s right, at the end of each of the “Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday” programs offered between July 12 and August 9, we’ll be raffling off a family four-pack of Wet ‘n’ Wild tickets. The Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday Series is a self-guided tour where visitors are invited to see the snakes, scorpions, desert tortoise, and nature center displays. The program is offered from 10 to 11 a.m. Individuals who arrive at the nature center by 10:45 a.m. to attend the program are eligible to participate in the 11 a.m. drawing. Each family will receive one (1) ticket per family. The family with the ticket selected, will receive a family four-pack of single day admission tickets to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix. Park admission is $6 per vehicle.

Family Movie: Rango - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Join us in the Nature Center classroom for a showing of the fun family animated movie, Rango. Rango, a pet chameleon, finds himself the acting sheriff in the Wild West town of Dirt, where he meets many interesting characters as he attempts to solve the mystery of who is stealing the town's water. Bring your own snacks or purchase some at the Nature Center. Take home some tips about how you can help save water in your own community! **UPDATE: This program is part of the "County Parks are getting Wet 'n' Wild this Summer" promotion. After the program, we will give away a family four-pack (4 tickets to the Wet 'n' Wild Water Park - a $160 value!).

Archery 101 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in archery? Curious about how to shoot a bow? Come to Usery Park and find out! You will discover how fun archery really is! Participants will experience a fun and safe introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment will be provided. This class is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Archery Range. 7:30pm-9:00pm.
