Sonoran Story and Craft: Just for Kids - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
What adventure will you listen today? Come find out! Sonoran Story-Time is a wonderful way for kids to learn about our amazing desert. We will also have a craft project to do and take home. Bring snacks, water, your imagination, and be ready to have some fun. Meet inside the Nature Center.

The Desert Tortoise and Friends - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Did you know that we have tortoises that live in the desert? What would you do if you saw one of these amazing animals in the wild? Stop by the park's Nature Center to see them in person and learn about these unique creatures. You can also check out the other animals on display (and their new habitats!), including a rattlesnake, gila monster, snakes and scorpions! Program takes place at the Nature Center.

Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday Series at Estrella Mountain Regional Park

Psst…have you heard the news? The Estrella Mountain Regional Park is getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer! That’s right, at the end of each of the “Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday” programs offered between July 12 and August 9, we’ll be raffling off a family four-pack of Wet ‘n’ Wild tickets. The Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday Series is a self-guided tour where visitors are invited to see the snakes, scorpions, desert tortoise, and nature center displays. The program is offered from 10 to 11 a.m. Individuals who arrive at the nature center by 10:45 a.m. to attend the program are eligible to participate in the 11 a.m. drawing. Each family will receive one (1) ticket per family. The family with the ticket selected, will receive a family four-pack of single day admission tickets to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix. Park admission is $6 per vehicle.

Geology of the Grand Canyon - Usery Park

Lombard, as he shares a wealth of information about the unique geology of the Grand Canyon in this exciting and colorful slide presentation. Bring your curiosities and questions to Usery Park and discover lots of amazing things about our national treasure! Location: Nature Center.

Clay Mine Adventure! - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for adventure as we explore the Clay Mine! Inside we’ll discuss the history of this site and learn how its contents were used to “cure what ailed ya”! Bring water, a flashlight, and your camera. No pets, please. Park at the Nature Center and follow the directions at the trailhead kiosk to the “Clay Mine”. This program is in “open house” format so you may participate at your convenience during the scheduled time frame. The last tour is at: 8:30pm. To get to the park from Carefree Highway turn North on 32nd Street and follow to park. 32nd St. becomes CAVE CREEK PARKWAY.

Long before they were lurking in closets for a living, Mike and Sulley were just two Scaring majors at Monsters University, dreaming of the day they would make children shriek in terror. Long before they were lurking in closets for a living, Mike and Sulley were just two Scaring majors at Monsters University, dreaming of the day they would make children shriek in terror. When their heated competition to be the most fearsome in their class gets out of hand, however, Mike and Sulley find themselves ejected from the prestigious Scare Program, and they are forced to seek the aid of their oddball friends in order to get their education back on track. Bring a brown-bag dinner or snacks. Curl up in the chair or on the floor with a blanket and pillow inside the Nature Center. *No pets, please.

Flashlight Hike - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
August 16 Saturday 7:30 pm Flashlight Hike (moderate) Come join us on a dark sky hike through Spur Cross as we look for some of it’s nocturnal inhabitants. Please bring a flashlight and water. Black lights are optional. No pets on this hike. (moderate) NOTE: This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer” promotion. At the end of the program, we will give away a free family four-pack (4 free tickets to the Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park)

Stargazing for Everyone! -White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Enjoy a night under the stars! Learn some of the constellations and listen to stories of the night sky. View the moon, planets, star clusters and galaxies through telescopes provided by presenting astronomers. Please bring a chair for the 45-minute presentation portion. Event is held at Area 4. Please try to arrive by 7:15 to facilitate parking.
