Fruits of the Desert - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
July 12 Saturday 7:00 am Fruits of the Desert (easy) Come join us on a quest to find and taste some of the edible plants that have sustained the native peoples of this region. We will harvest and taste one of the most important foods, the fruit of the saguaro cactus, as well as look to see what else is available this time of the year. Bring along plenty of water. NOTE: This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer” promotion. At the end of the program, we will give away a free family four-pack (4 free tickets to the Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park)

Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday Series at Estrella Mountain Regional Park

Psst…have you heard the news? The Estrella Mountain Regional Park is getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer! That’s right, at the end of each of the “Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday” programs offered between July 12 and August 9, we’ll be raffling off a family four-pack of Wet ‘n’ Wild tickets. The Sensational Slithering Summer Saturday Series is a self-guided tour where visitors are invited to see the snakes, scorpions, desert tortoise, and nature center displays. The program is offered from 10 to 11 a.m. Individuals who arrive at the nature center by 10:45 a.m. to attend the program are eligible to participate in the 11 a.m. drawing. Each family will receive one (1) ticket per family. The family with the ticket selected, will receive a family four-pack of single day admission tickets to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix. Park admission is $6 per vehicle.

"Little Explorers" for Kids - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Snake encounters! Join Ranger Tish in the Nature Center for this fun, informative hands-on program about snakes. You will learn what to expect when handling snakes as well as important information on how snakes sense their world - so very differently than mammals.

Adult Moonlight Hike - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
See the desert in a different light - moonlight! Join us for a 1 1/2 mile hike on the Waddell Trail. Bring a flashlight, your scorpion light, and wear closed-toe shoes. This hike is limited to those 16 years and older. Please leave your dog at home. Hike will begin at Area 7.

Archery 101 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in archery? Curious about how to shoot a bow? Come to Usery Park and find out! You will discover how fun archery really is! Participants will experience a fun and safe introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment will be provided. This class is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Archery Range. 7:30pm-9:00pm.

Pleasant Paddlers Program - Sunset and Full Moon Paddle Tour - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come explore the north end of the lake as we tour by the full moon. You must have your own paddlecraft and wear your life vest when on the water. Bring water, lights and your adventureous spirit! We will meet near the 4-lane launch ramp, look for the kayaks.

July 12 Saturday 8:00 pm Full Moon Hike (moderate) The Conservation Area is a different experience when seen softly illuminated by the silver moon. While we will attempt to minimize the use of flashlights, bring one in case you need it.
