Scorpion Scavenger Hunt! - McDowell Park
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Scorpions are a lot more fun to find when you spot them glowing under a blacklight, scavenger-hunt style (outside, rather than in your house)! Learn all about these venomous creatures and what makes them so well-adapted to life in the Sonoran Desert. Did you know that we commonly see three different species? And that all scorpions glow-- the same color--under a black light? Bring a flashlight or a blacklight, and wear sturdy shoes. This short walk will be about a 1/2 mile in length.
