CLASS FULL Fun with a Bow - Archery 101 7AM Class - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
THIS CLASS IS NOW FULL, PLEASE CHECK OTHER DATES AND TIMES. Sign Up Today - Limited Spots! Learn to shoot recurve and compound bows. This 1.5 hour class is the first step in learning archery. Wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and bring some cold water. All equipment is provided. Call 928-501-1710 , and leave name, phone number, and how many people wish to attend. Ranger will call to let you know if there is room in the class (only 12 people per class). Follow the "Archery 101" signs from the main contact station to the group campground.

Sonoran Desert Survival - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Do you believe you have what it takes to survive the harsh Sonoran Desert? Yes, you do and you don’t need to prove it on Survivor. Find out everything you need to know about how to enjoy the Sonoran Desert without getting yourself into an emergency situation. You’ll learn how to always stay found. Meet inside the Nature Center for this fun and informative program. NOTE: This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer” promotion. At the end of the program, we will give away a free family four-pack (4 free tickets to the Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park – a $160 value!!)

Join Ranger Jessica in the White Tank Library classroom for this interactive program, designed for young children and their caregivers, where we will explore feelings toward some common desert animals through discussion, poetry, art, and movement. All About Scorpions - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
How dangerous are scorpions? How can we protect ourselves from them? How do they survive and thrive in our desert? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about scorpions, then this one-hour presentation is for you! Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares some amazing facts about these desert dwellers. Watch us feed our snakes after the program at 7:30pm. Then join our “Scorpion Hunt” at 8pm at no extra cost!

Enjoy a movie inside the air conditioned Nature Center. *No pets, please.

Summer Night Ride Series- Pemberton Trail
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
The summer night mountain bike series will be held on Friday or Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. All riders must have a helmet, a lighting system designed for mountain biking and battery power for 3 hours of riding. Riders must sign-in and sign-out, two hours are allowed to ride the Pemberton Trail. It is highly recommended that you ride this trail in day light before coming out for a night ride. The sign in/out sheets are available at 6:30 for riders who might need extra time in order to be back by 10pm. NO RIDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO START AFTER 8:00 p.m.

Did you know that scorpions glow in the dark under a blacklight? Join Ranger B as he leads us on this fun and safe night walk to find these elusive desert dwellers (using our eyes only). You will learn cool facts about these amazing creatures and sharpen your spotting skills! All ages will enjoy this casual one-hour/one-mile walk. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and a flashlight (blacklights are recommended and are for sale for $10, batteries and tax included). No pets, please. Location: Staging Area. Join our “All About Scorpions” program inside our Nature Center at 6:30pm and our snake feeding at 7:30pm at no extra cost!

Scorpion Night Walk - Estrella -The County Parks are getting Wet 'n' Wild this Summer!
Estrella Mountain Park
We will set off on an easy trail to look for scorpions on this one-hour night walk. This walk will be fun for all ages as we look for these desert dwellers in their natural habitat. Bring your sense of adventure, water, and a black light if you have one. We will meet at the Nature Center. The County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer! By attending this program, park visitors become eligible for a drawing of a 4-pack of single day admission tickets to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix! Visitors must attend the program in full and must be present to win. At the end of the program, the Interpretive Ranger will pull one winning ticket. One 4-pack will be issued per program. Families can only win one set of 2014 Wet ‘n’ Wild tickets.
