Fridays Fitness Hike – Sonoran Trail- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. This week's hike starts at the Sonoran Trail, OUTSIDE of the main park entrance.

Hohokam Houses - the Ruins of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
June 28 Friday 7:00 am Ruins of Spur Cross (moderate) Join us for this 2.5 mile hike that will introduce you to the rich archaeological history of the area. See evidence of prehistoric Hohokam dwellings and learn about their culture as we trek on up to one of their mesa-top compounds.

Gila River Nature Walk - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Bring your binoculars to look for wildlife along the Gila River. Ranger Amy will guide you through this unique riparian habitat for a relaxing morning walk. This short, slow walk will start your day off on the right foot! We will meet at the Nature Center (then re-locate to the trailhead).

Matinee Movie! “The County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer!”- Cave Creek Regional Park

Bring the kids to the park for some fun at the playground, then bring them inside the “air-conditioned” Nature Center for a fun family friendly feature film and a picnic lunch! You bring the kids and snacks and we’ll provide the entertainment! “The County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer!” That means program participants will be eligible to win a 4-pak of tickets to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix! 1. Tickets will be issued one per family. 2. Families can only win one set of 2013 Wet ‘n’ Wild tickets. 3. Visitors must attend the program in full and must be present to win. At the end of the program, the Interpretive Ranger will pull one winning ticket. 4. One 4-pack will be issued per program.

The Ancients of the Valley - "Brown-Bag It" with Ranger B - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Who were the ancient inhabitants that lived here before us? How did they survive and thrive in this desert environment? Where did they go? Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares some insights on the ancient people who once walked this land. Location: Nature Center.

Animal Spotlighting Adventure - San Tan - Wet N Wild Program
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this summer” series and we will be giving away a family-four pack of Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park Tickets at the end of the program. Venture into the Sonoran Desert at night for a chance to see the illusive animals that come out under the cover of darkness. With our high power spotlights we will hit the trails aiming to find coyotes, foxes, bobcats, snakes and any other exciting creatures out in about in the park. Spotlights and flashlights are welcome on this 1.3- mile hike. This will be a low noise hike, with chatter at a minimum, to increase our chances of seeing wildlife.
