Hohokam Houses - the Ruins of Spur Cross**CANCELLED**
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
May 4 Saturday 7:00 am Ruins of Spur Cross (moderate) Join us for this 2.5 mile hike that will introduce you to the rich archaeological history of the area. See evidence of prehistoric Hohokam dwellings and learn about their culture as we trek on up to one of their mesa-top compounds. (This hike has been cancelled - the next Ruins of Spur Cross hike will be on Friday June 28 at 7am)

The Secret life of Saguaros – *Lousley Hill Trail*- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Want a moderate hike, while learning all about the secret life of saguaros? We will look for the first saguaro blooms of the season as we walk Lousley Hill Trail-- a 1.5 mile loop with great views and wildlife. Take in the desert as we walk this moderate, 2 1/2 hour walk. Please wear hiking shoes and bring water and snacks. Meet at the Lousley Hill Trail.

Quail Trail Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Join Ranger Amy on a hike on the newest trail in the park, the Quail Trail. Aptly named, we will look for Gambel’s quail and other desert critters as we set off on this 2-mile out and back hike. This is a great walk for out of town visitors and/or beginner hikers. Meet at the Nature Center.

Join Ranger Mark at Nature Center for a presentation about the venomous creatures you may find in the Sonoran Desert. Enjoy the beauty of these wonderful, misunderstood, and often maligned animals while learning fascinating facts and the important roles each creature plays in the desert ecosystem. As Marie Curie, French Physicist and two-time Nobel Prize recipient said “Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.” Afterwards, Ranger Mark will be feeding all the critters!

Stargazing for Everyone! - Cave Creek Regional Park

Enjoy a night under the stars with Tony & Carole La Conte, professional stargazers! Learn star names, see the constellations, and listen to stories of the night sky. View the moon, planets, star clusters, nebula, galaxies and more through their telescopes. We encourage you to bring your digital camera and binoculars to enjoy the views from this great location. The stargazing program is an outdoor event, please dress appropriately and bring chairs or blankets for your seating comfort.
