Beat the Heat Fitness Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
The warmer months are upon us! If you hit the trail early, you can keep hiking through the summer! These fitness oriented hikes are perfect to get you out and help you maintain your fitness level. The hike will be approximately 3.5-miles. Meet your guide, Sandy K., at the Nature Center. Make sure to have plenty of water and a hat!

Become a Jr. Ranger - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Bring your kids (most suitable for ages 5-12) out to the park for this “on your own” program. Stop by the Nature Center between 8-10am to pick up the Junior Ranger Booklet. Head outside to complete the required activities and have fun! Return to the Nature Center when you’re finished to pick up the Jr. Ranger badge you earned! You can complete the activities in this program in 1-2 hours. (Please note that the Nature Center closes at 4pm).

The Secret life of Saguaros –Lousley Hill- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Want a moderate hike, while learning all about the secret life of saguaros? Lousley Hill Trail is a 1.2 mile ridgeline hike with great views of mountain ranges in all directions. We’ll look for saguaros in bloom and learn all about their fascinating life cycle. Please wear hiking shoes and bring water and snacks. Meet at Lousley Hill Trail.

Reptile Feeding - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Have you ever seen a reptile eat? Join the staff after your morning hike and see how our cold-blooded residents eat their meals for yourself! Frozen rodent entrees will be served to the critters. Come learn about the important roles these creatures play in our dynamic food web. Feeding takes place inside the Nature Center.

Sunset Over Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
May 3 Saturday 5:30 pm Sunset Over Spur Cross (easy) Come with us on a casual stroll along the Metate Trail as the sun sets over the hills of the conservation area. Late afternoon is a prime time to watch for wildlife and take pictures so bring some binoculars and a camera.

Stargazing with Telescopes at Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come enjoy a fun presentation about the stars, looking out across the lake with big telescopes, sitting in our amphitheater. Learn about the night sky by the fun people from "Stargazing For Everyone." This program will have a slide presentation and then an interactive session with several large telescopes. Spend the evening learning more about those little twinkles in the sky. Once in the park just follow the signs to the visitor center.
