Exploring the Dragonfly Trail - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
May 24 Saturday 7:00 am Exploring the Dragonfly Trail (moderate) Come along with park ranger Kevin Smith on this exploration of the newest trail in the Spur Cross trail system, the Dragonfly Trail. On this moderate 3.5 mile hike we will visit a prehistoric rock art site and also stroll along a beautiful section of riparian habitat on Cave Creek.

Family Fitness Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
We will take a 1-mile fitness hike that will be great for the whole family. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing (including a hat!), and bring plenty of water. What a great way to wake up and start your weekend! Meet at the Rainbow Trailhead.

San Tan Mountain Regional Park
What adventure will you listen today? Come find out! Sonoran Story-Time is a wonderful way for kids to learn about our amazing desert. We will also have a craft project to do and take home. Bring snacks, water, your imagination, and be ready to have some fun. Meet inside the Nature Center.

"Little Explorers" for Kids - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
From a fox to a mountain lion, from raccoon to bobcat, children will develop a sense of wonder during this informal hands-on program that will introduce them to the animals of the Sonoran desert. The skins are real. The bones are replicas. Everything is a “yes” to touching. Join Ranger Tish inside the Nature Center for this indoor safari.

Clay Mine Adventure! - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for adventure as we explore the Clay Mine! Inside we’ll discuss the history of this site and learn how its contents were used to “cure what ailed ya”! Bring water, a flashlight, and your camera. No pets, please. Park at the Nature Center and follow the directions at the trailhead kiosk to the “Clay Mine”. This program is in “open house” format so you may participate at your convenience during the scheduled time frame. The last tour is at: 8:30pm. For more information contact Ranger Mark at: markpaulat@mail.maricopa.gov Check the park’s website for updates and changes. *Please Note: GPS and other mapping services may provide incorrect directions. To get to the park from Carefree Highway turn North on 32nd Street and follow to park. 32nd St. becomes CAVE CREEK PARKWAY.

Super Scorpion Search - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
How many scorpions can you count?...Join us on this Super Scorpion Search to find out! Bring your scorpion light or purchase one at the entrance station. Walk the Black Rock trail on your own to search for scorpions, then join us around the campfire after your hunt to add your sightings to the tally. You may bring your own marshmallows to roast if you wish. This great family evening event will take place at Area 4. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
