White Tank Mountains Regional Park
There are a lot of tall tales about the scorpions that populate our desert. Come and learn the truths, myths and some interesting stories about these creatures. Bring your lunch if you like. It is a short 1 hour program. It may not interest very young children.

Matinee Movie! “The County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer!”- Cave Creek Regional Park

Bring the kids to the park for some fun at the playground, then bring them inside the “air-conditioned” Nature Center for a fun family friendly feature film and a picnic lunch! You bring the kids and snacks and we’ll provide the entertainment! “The County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this Summer!” That means program participants will be eligible to win a 4-pak of tickets to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix! 1. Tickets will be issued one per family. 2. Families can only win one set of 2013 Wet ‘n’ Wild tickets. 3. Visitors must attend the program in full and must be present to win. At the end of the program, the Interpretive Ranger will pull one winning ticket. 4. One 4-pack will be issued per program.

Creatures of the Night Hike! - Cave Creek

Diurnal, Crepuscular, Nocturnal. What does it all mean? Come on out to the Nature Center and Ranger Mark will explain as we venture out into the desert, at night! Bring a flashlight, sturdy footwear, plenty of water and a camera! BONUS! Bring a “blacklight” to spot scorpions! DOUBLE BONUS!! The moon will be FULL!!

Cactus Flower Full Moon Hike - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
May means seeing the night-blooming saguaro in full bloom! Join us for our monthly Full Moon Hike and experience the desert in a whole new way. We'll watch for sphinx moths and other animals attracted to the saguaro flowers at night. Flashlights are not necessary, but permitted. Bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes. Hiking time is 2 hours, and 3 miles. No pets please. Hikes begin at the Trailhead Staging area. Moonlit hike programs are free with $6/vehicle entry to the Park. Full Moon Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Join us for this 2-mile hike under the glowing light of the full moon. This is a is a great opportunity to experience new sights and sounds of the desert! Bring your sense of adventure for this interpretive hike with our park ranger, Ranger B. Please bring a flashlight, water, and closed-toe shoes. No pets, please. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Full Moon Hike - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert at night, as we hike under the light from the full moon. Join us for a pristine 2.2-mile stroll along the Stargazer Trail. Listen for the sounds of wildlife and explore the night-life atmosphere. The pace of the hike will be relatively mild or slow to help enjoy the surroundings. Flashlights are welcomed.
