Fitness Hike - Cave Creek Regional Park

We will continue our Fitness series as long as everyone wants to keep it going. We’ll start a bit earlier to beat the heat. Who needs a gym membership when you can reap the same benefits in the beautiful outdoors? See how fun exercise can be out in the scenic setting of Cave Creek Regional Park. All levels of fitness are welcome. We will set a moderate, steady pace, based on the fitness level of participants. Beginners are welcome. We will hike about a 3.5-miles in a different part of the park each week. Meet at the Nature Center. Bring plenty of water!

Black Rock Loop Archeology
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
On this 1.5 mile hike, on an easy trail (with some climbing) you will get to view evidence left by people who lived in our Valley long before any European visited our shores. Joe Weber will take you to areas not usually accessible to the public. There is some rock climbing involved so wear good shoes. Meet at Area 4 at 9:00 am. No dogs please.

Come and hear stories and legends about the desert southwest from renowned story teller, Joyce Story. This is a great family event.

Little Critters Storytime w/ Ranger Amy -McDowell Park Nature Center
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Little Critters Storytime with Ranger Amy - (Geared toward preschool and older children) Join us every Thursday for a themed program set around a children's book read aloud by Ranger Amy. Activities vary and may include live animals, songs, crafts, and/or puppet plays. This program takes place in our air-conditioned Visitor Center.

Moonlight Hike - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
May 23 Thursday 7:30 pm Moonlight Hike (moderate) The Conservation Area is a different experience when seen softly illuminated by the silver moon. While we will attempt to minimize the use of flashlights, bring one in case you need it.
