Beat the Heat Fitness Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
The warmer months are upon us! If you hit the trail early, you can keep hiking through the summer! These fitness oriented hikes are perfect to get you out and help you maintain your fitness level. The hike will be approximately 3.5-miles. Meet your guide, Sandy K., at the Nature Center. Make sure to have plenty of water and a hat!

Early Bird Walk and Program - White Tank Mtn.
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Join birder Joe Ford from the Sonoran Audubon Society on an early morning bird walk along the Mule Deer trail. The walk will be followed by a short classroom program on some of the common birds of the Sonoran Desert, featuring photography by an up-and-coming birder and photographer who happens to be 14 years old. Join us for the walk or the program or both. The bird walk will begin at 7:00 am, and the classroom program begins at 9:00 am. Binoculars may be available to borrow. Bring your bird book if you have one. Please meet for the walk in front of the Library/Nature Center. No dogs, please.

Life along the Creek - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
May 17 Saturday 7:00 am Life along the Creek (moderate) Join interpretive ranger Kevin Smith as we look at the plants and animals that live in the riparian area along Cave Creek. The hike will take us through the Jewel of the Creek and along the lower section of the Dragonfly Trail for a distance of approximately 1.5 miles. Some rock-hopping may be required.

Searching for Saguaro Blossoms! - Walk - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Why does the saguaro cactus have beautiful white blossoms? Why does each bud open for one night only? What are the pollinators of the mighty saguaro? Join us for a 1-mile jaunt along the Moonlight Trail in search of the “jolly green giant of the desert” and it’s gorgeous flowers. Please bring water, sunscreen and comfortable hiking attire. Meet at the Flag Pole.
