Exploring the Dragonfly Trail - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
May 16 Wednesday 8:00 am Exploring the Dragonfly Trail (moderate) Come along with park docent Tammy Teegardin on this exploration of the newest trail in the Spur Cross trail system, the Dragonfly Trail. On this moderate 3.5 mile hike we will visit a prehistoric rock art site and also stroll along a beautiful section of riparian habitat on Cave Creek.

"Just for Kids" - Little Desert Explorers - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
This 1-mile hike is designed for parents and grandparents with small children, ages 3 – 6 years. Using their senses, kids will discover lots of cool things about the plants and animals that call our desert “home.” After completing the hike, kids will receive a Junior Ranger badge. We will explore the desert along the scenic Merkle Trail. The hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water and hats. Location: Area 6.

YOGA AT ESTRELLA MOUNTAIN REGIONAL PARK

Invite yourself and friends for a fun,playful, and all levels yoga practice surrounded by spark of the sonoran desert. Estrella Mountain Regional Park is offering yoga classes in the nature center MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY 9-10AM. Classes start 4/16/12 Instructor, Candace Jordan Ph: 425-299-5810 Cost: $10 per class for Maricopa County Parks Annual Pass Holders $15 per class for non pass holders - this includes the cost to get into park Please bring your annual pass to class for verification. Please check the park website for any cancellations. What to bring- • Water • Yoga mat • Towel and or props you may need. A blanket, strap and yoga block is recommended for stiff joints and tight muscles. Please consider the following- • If it is your 1st time to attend a class, please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out waiver form and discuss any limitations with instructor. • Check/Sign in on the class roster • We don't accept credit cards so PLEASE BRING CASH/CHECK. Home School - Desert Survival - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
If your kids are ready to go on an educational adventure, then join us for another exciting Home School at the Park. Get involved as we explore the Sonoran Desert, meet animals face to face, and learn some helpful tricks on how to survive the desert. Please bring water and wear closed toed shoes. This class and hike (roughly 0.5-miles) are designed for children 4 and up.
