Fridays Fitness Hike – Trailhead Staging

Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. This week's hike starts at the Trailhead Staging Area.

Reach Your Goal Fitness Finale - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
This is it! We will enjoy our final hike together as a group. While on the trail, you can explore the wildflowers, the birds, or simply take in the beautiful San Tan morning. Join Ranger Tish at the Flag Pole.

4-mile Fitness Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
On the fourth day of the fourth month of the fourteenth year, it seems like a no-brainer to do a 4-mile fitness hike! Please come prepared with appropriate hiking attire, water and snacks. Meet at the Rainbow Trailhead.

Hike the Wind Cave Trail - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Why is the hike up to Wind Cave such a popular hike? Join us and find out! This difficult, 3-mile round-trip hike gains over 800 feet in elevation and presents some of the most spectacular scenery in the Valley! Please bring water, hats, snacks, and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Wind Cave Trailhead.

Wildflower Walk - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
April 4 Friday 8:00 am Wildflower Walk (moderate) Come and see what’s blooming in Spur Cross. This three-hour stroll along the Spur Cross and Tortuga Trails will showcase some of the wildflowers found in the park and explore the beauty of the conservation area.

Basic Map and Compass Orienteering - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come learn the basics of map and compass orienteering. There will be one hour of class instruction followed by a three hour session in the desert. Bring a small pack with water, snacks, and a whistle. Dress to protect from the weather(sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc.) and wear long pants and good hiking shoes/boots. Loaner compasses available or bring your own. Follow “Map & Compass” signs from front contact station gate to program. Please call 602-372-7460 x 202 to sign up and to answer any questions.

Discover amazing facts about these incredible plants when you join our Interpretive Ranger for a scenic stroll along the quarter-mile Desert Hawk Trail. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.
