Desert Washes Walk - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
April 30 Wednesday 8:00 am Desert Washes Walk (moderate) Come discover the fascinating world of a desert wash. This hike will feature the exploration of Cottonwood Wash which drains into Cave Creek. Along the way we will discuss desert washes and mesas and how the ecosystems differ. Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Bring plenty of water.

The Secret life of Saguaros – McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Want a longer hike, while learning all about the secret life of saguaros? The Scenic Trail is a 4.8 mile ridgeline hike with great views of mountain ranges in all directions. See a crested saguaro, view an ancient petroglyph, and take in the desert as we walk this moderate, 2 1/2 hour walk. Please wear hiking shoes and bring water and snacks. Meet at the Trailhead Staging Area.

There's a Rattlesnake on my Doorstep!- LIVE Rattlesnake Program – Indoor Program- McDowell Park

Life in the desert means living with rattlesnakes. What do you do if you find one on your patio, or in your home? We will have live rattlesnakes on hand for viewing...behind glass. Bring the kids to learn about how to live in an environment with venomous creatures. Program takes place in our Visitor Center.

These walks are geared for anyone who wants to start walking their way toward better health and wellness. Meet at the Gila Trailhead and walk on the 0.5-mile barrier free trail. Get off the couch and get moving with others who have the same goals. As you build your fitness level, you can increase your distance. You are in control of how fast and how far you choose to go each week. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Leave your excuses at home. Meet at the Gila Trailhead.

Get “mad.” Get REAL “mad” with Mountain Bike Madness as we ride the awesome trails at San Tan MRP. All skill levels are welcome. Helmets are mandatory. Bring your love of mountain biking and sense of adventure as you sharpen your riding abilities. We meet every Wednesday at the Flag Pole.
