Fridays Fitness Hike – Wagner Trailhead
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. This week's hike starts at the Wagner Trailhead.

Birds, Blooms and the Crested Saguaro Hike - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
If you’re ready to explore the back of the park then this hike is for you. It’s a moderate 5.5 mile hike with plenty of visual rewards such as the Malpais Hills and Rock Peak. We will look for birds, beautiful blooms, and our park’s very special Crested Saguaro. Please bring plenty of water, snacks, binoculars and/or camera. Wear sunscreen, hat, and closed-toed shoes. Meet Ranger Tish at the Flag Pole.

Wildlife Safari - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
We all love to see wild animals, but where are they hiding this time of year? Join us on this exciting 1.5-mile wildlife safari as we sneak to the secret places where the park’s wildlife is often seen. Feel free to bring your camera and binoculars. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Staging Area.

"Just for Kids" - Toddler Cruise - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
This 1-mile hike is designed for parents and caregivers with small children, ages 3 – 6. Along with Miss Lynn, the kids will howl like coyotes, do the “bobcat crawl” and learn how to hydrate by counting gulps of water on their fingers. We will explore the desert along the scenic Merkle Trail. The hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Area 6.

Four Senses Walk - Estrella

When we hike, we see a lot of things. But there are other ways to enjoy the desert. Have fun using your ears, nose, taste and touch to learn about the desert in a new way on our half-mile barrier free Gila Trail. Meet at the Gila Trailhead.

2-mile Sunset Hike - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Enjoy a hike in the Sonoran Desert at sunset! Join the Ranger for this easy 2-mile hike. The sun will be setting, and the moon will be rising, as we explore the trail. Make sure to have good hiking shoes, water and bring a flashlight, just in case! Meet at the Horseshoe Trailhead.

Explore the Clay Mine! - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for adventure as we explore the Clay Mine! Inside we’ll discuss the history of this site and learn how its contents were used to “cure what ailed ya”! Bring water, a flashlight, and your camera. No pets, please. Park at the Nature Center and follow the directions at the trailhead kiosk to the “Clay Mine”. This program is in “open house” format so you may participate at your convenience during the scheduled time frame. The last tour is at: 8:30pm.

Movie Night in the Park: "Sonoran Desert: A Violent Eden" - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Our Sonoran Desert reveals a world of wonders – some pleasant and some violent. This exciting presentation will showcase some of our desert’s most unusual plants and animals. Then watch us feed our snakes after the movie! Feel free to bring snacks and drinks with you (no glass bottles), otherwise, concessions are available. Note: Due to some violent animal scenes, this movie may not be suitable for young children. Location: Nature Center.

Experience White Tank in a different light - moonlight! Load up the kids and join us on a 1 1/2 mile hike to experience the desert at night. Bring a flashlight, your scorpion light, and wear comfortable footwear. No dogs, please. Please meet at Area 4.
