Elephant Mountain Fortress Hike - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
March 17 Sunday 8:00 am Elephant Mountain Fortress Hike (strenuous) Join us for a 7 mile / 5 hour roundtrip trek into the backcountry to one of the premier archaeological sites in the conservation area. Participants need to be in good condition and familiar with what hiking on primitive trails for this distance entails. Participants must bring at least one liter of water. We recommend you have a hat, & dress in layers. No dogs on this hike please.

Bring your dog and learn how you and your four legged friend can enjoy hiking in the Sonoran Desert and be safe on the trails. We will be joined by The Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic Veterinarian who will give you some expert advice on things such as hydration, venomous and poisonous creatures and other topics concerning pet safety. Bring water for you and your pet and be prepared to clean up after your pet, please. Leashes are required for this moderate 3.5 mile informative hike on the Overton Trail. Meet at Nature Center.

"Find Me Green Lucky Charms" Scavenger Hunt and Craft Activities - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Help Lucky the Leprechaun find his green lucky "Find Me Green Lucky Charms" Scavenger Hunt and Craft Activities Sunday, March 17, 10a.m.-1p.m Help Lucky the Leprechaun find his green lucky charms of Sonoran Desert wisdom. Lucky last saw his charms along the Interpretive Trail (roughly a quarter-mile in length). Don’t forget to pick up Lucky’s treasure map to help find his lucky charms at the San Tan Visitor Center. The charms contain interesting tidbits about some of Lucky’s favorite desert plants and wildlife. Stay after for some fun St. Patrick’s Day craft activities (supplies are limited). Please remember to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and proper hiking attire. Children must be accompanied by a parent(s) and remain on designated trails at all times. Fun for all ages… so remember to bring the entire family. Self-guided hike and craft activities are available between 10 a.m. & 1 p.m. Supplies are limited (first-come, first serve).
