Early Bird Desert Birdwalk to Nursery Tank Pond- ADA Access- McDowell Park

Skip the sleeping in this Saturday, and be rewarded with some of our colorful desert species who are out taking advantage of the cooler morning temps, too. Grab your binocs and come on out. No previous birding experience is required, only an interest in birds! This easy walk is along our less-than-½ mile accessible trail. Meet at Nursery Tank Trailhead.

Fitness Friday at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
March 14 Friday 9:00 am Fitness Friday (moderate) Get your day started with a two to three mile brisk, non-interpretive walk. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

Wildflower Discovery Walks- North Trail– McDowell Park

Join Ranger Amy to identify the gorgeous desert flowers that are blooming in the desert. Every week, different species will appear as the wildflower season unfolds—it is always a surprise what we find! Call the park for updates. Be sure to bring your camera! Every week will be a new location in the park, based on where the prime blooms are, that week. Meet at the Trailhead Staging Area.

"Just for Kids" - Little Desert Explorers - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
This 1-mile hike is designed for parents and caregivers with small children, ages 3 – 6 years. Using their senses, kids will discover lots of cool things about the plants and animals that call our desert “home.” We will explore the desert along the scenic Merkle Trail. The hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Area 6.

Full Moon Hike - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert at night, as we hike under the light from the full moon. Join us for a pristine 2.2-mile stroll along the Stargazer Trail. Listen for the sounds of wildlife and explore the night-life atmosphere. The pace of the hike will be relatively mild or slow to help enjoy the surroundings. Flashlights are welcomed. Join Ranger Tish under the Flag Pole before our adventure begins.
