Thursday Morning Fitness Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Want to get in shape and stay in shape? Want to meet others who want to do the same? Join us for this fun 2-3 mile moderate-pace hike through our scenic desert. Please bring water. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Desert Birdwalk to Nursery Tank Pond. Bring your binocs and come on out. No previous birding experience is required, only an interest in birds! We’ll look for winter sparrows, phainopeplas (often called ‘black cardinals’) and signs of our resident owls on this level, easy walk. Meet at the Nursery Tank Trailhead.

Fitness Hike - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Who needs a gym membership when you can reap the same benefits in the beautiful outdoors? See how fun exercise can be out in the scenic setting of Cave Creek Regional Park. All levels of fitness are welcome. We will set a moderate, steady pace, based on the fitness level of participants. Beginners are welcome. We will hike about a 3.5 miles in a different part of the park each week. Meet at the Nature Center.

Thursday Bird Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
How do you tell one brown bird from the next, and what are the first three items to look for as the little rascal flits off? Are you already a novice but interested in keeping a yearly, state or country bird list? Bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, will talk about bird habitat, behavior, range, etc. as we go in search of the native birds in this area. Please bring binoculars, water, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Plants and Flowers of the Desert
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
- On this 1.0 mile hike, on an easy trail (with some climbing) you will get to view some of the spring growth and hopefully some flowers of the Uplands Transition Scrub Desert. No dogs please. Meet at Area 4 at 10:00 am.

"Just for Kids" - Story Time in the Desert - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Kids (including parents and grandparents) will learn about our desert through a fun story, game, and a short nature walk. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the program as we have three shaded playgrounds in our park. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.

Lookin' for Lizards Lunch Break for kids - Estrella Mountain Regional Park
Estrella Mountain Park
Take a break...Spring Break, that is! Bring the kids out for an easy 0.5-mile walk on the barrier-free Gila Trail. We will look for lizards and Ranger Amy will share examples of unusual eating habits of some desert wildlife. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the picnic ramadas after the walk. Meet at the Gila Trailhead.
