Thursday Morning Fitness Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Want to get in shape and stay in shape? Want to meet others who want to do the same? Join us for this fun 2-3 mile moderate-pace hike through our scenic desert. Please bring water. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Fitness Hike - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
This is the best place to get going on your New Year's fitness resolution! Who needs a gym membership when you can reap the same benefits in the beautiful outdoors? See how fun exercise can be out in the scenic setting of Cave Creek Regional Park. All levels of fitness are welcome. We will set a moderate, steady pace, based on the fitness level of participants. Beginners are welcome. We will hike about a 3.5 miles in a different part of the park each week. Meet at the Nature Center.

Celestial Petroglyph Hike at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
This hike is limited to 30 people so you must make reservations. The location of the start of the hike will be given to you when you register. It is a hike back into one of the remote valleys of the Park to see some very unusual petroglyphs. The hiking is rugged and off trail so it is not recommended for small children or those with physical limitations. It is history and science based so younger children will not appreciate this walk. No dogs please.

Thursday Bird Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
How do you tell one brown bird from the next, and what are the first three items to look for as the little rascal flits off? Are you already a novice but interested in keeping a yearly, state or country bird list? Bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, will talk about bird habitat, behavior, range, etc. as we go in search of the native birds in this area. Please bring binoculars, water, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Under the Desert Floor- McDowell Park
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Most of the wildlife of the Desert is actually below your feet, while we hike above. Join Ranger Amy to discover the clues we can look for, right under our feet, to find out who is living Under the Desert Floor. Bring plenty on water and your curiosity, for this easy, less than 1 mile interpretive program on the Nursery Tank Trail.
