Progressive Fitness Hike #1 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Want to increase your fitness level and also enjoy the outdoors? Hit the trails with us for a fun way to get back in shape! During this hike series, each hike will increase in length and difficulty in order to help you prepare for the grand finale hike – the 7.5-mile loop trail around Pass Mountain! This is a great way to get in shape and to hike many different trails in Usery Park at the same time. This hike series will take place every Saturday at 8am through March 9. This first hike of the series will be approximately 2.5 miles on fairly level terrain. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Trail Staging Area. Note: Participation in the 4th or 5th hike in this series is required to do the final hike.

Reach Your Goal Fitness Series 4 of 8 - Cave Creek Regional Park

Do you have that goal to get in shape for 2012? Join the Ranger as we help you reach that goal with this weekly fitness hike. We will slowly build up to our final hike on March 1st which will be our 6 mile Go John Trail! What better way to get in shape, enjoy the outdoors and meet some great people. Up for the challenge? Make sure you have good hiking shoes and always bring plenty of water. Week 4- Quartz Trail – 3.6 miles/moderate (counter clockwise). Meet at the Slate Trailhead.

Usery Mountain Regional Park
Connect with nature in Usery Park’s Nature Center by exploring your breath before a desert hike. Improve your balance for a bike ride through easy-to-learn, fundamental yoga postures. This all-levels class for both beginners and experienced yogis sets the tone for your day of hiking, riding or…yes, even your workday! Please join Inner Vision Yoga and their certified instructors for inspiring yoga every Monday night at 6pm, Tuesday and Thursday at 9am, and Saturday at 8:30am. It’s Groundhog Day! - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Join Ranger Mark at the Nature Center for a fun craft project and learn about the Groundhog and a few of his relatives. Then we’ll go out and see if we can spot the elusive “Estrella Groundhog” and his shadow! Bring binoculars, if you have them, and a picnic lunch. Yum!

Thursday Bird Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
How do you tell one brown bird from the next, and what are the first three items to look for as the little rascal flits off? Are you already a novice but interested in keeping a yearly, state or country bird list? Bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, will talk about bird habitat, behavior, range, etc. as we go in search of the native birds in this area. Please bring binoculars and water. Little Critters Storytime with Ranger Amy - (Geared toward preschool and kindergartners) Join us every Thursday for a themed program set around a children's book read aloud by Ranger Amy. Activities vary and may include live animals, songs, crafts, and/or puppet plays. This program takes place in our air-conditioned Visitor Center.

Animal Hide and Seek- At Night - San Tan

The sun has gone down and the animal night shift has come out. These nocturnal creatures are masters of the shadows and sneak right by us without making a sound. Adults only half moon hike at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
Enjoy the moonlight and the desert night in a hike along the Waterfall Trail. We are doing ½ moon because the full moon does not come up till quite late this month. This is a two mile walk. Meet at Area 6 at 7:00 pm. Children under 15 can come to the family hike on the 3rd. No dogs please.
