Competitive Track will be CLOSED
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Saturday, December 7th the Competitive Track will be closed for a foot race which will take place on all the tracks that compose the Competitive track. The runners will actually be out running on many of the parks trails but none are closed other than the Competitive Track.

Dog Walk! - Estrella
Estrella Mountain Park
Turn your dog into an official Bark Ranger by taking them for a hike with the Park Ranger! We will walk the Coldwater trail, a wide trail that there will be plenty of room for your best friend to explore safely. Learn some tips from Ranger Amy for safe hiking with your dog. Dogs must be on a leash. Meet at the Coldwater Trailhead.

Progressive Fitness Hike #6 - Usery Park

Today is the day you have been training for! This is the grand finale hike of our 6-week hike series – the culmination of five previous hikes that have prepared us for this 7.5 mile loop around Pass Mountain. Please bring ample water, snacks, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Staging Area. Note: Participation in the 4th or 5th hike in this series was required to do this final hike. Please be aware that this hike involves elevation changes, uneven terrain, and a moderate pace. Participants are expected to stay with the group.

Desert Photography Walk - Usery Park

Want to learn how to take beautiful photos in a desert environment? Whatever your level, this one-mile walk along the Merkle Trail will give you lots of useful tips and techniques! Our instructor, Steven Lewis, has years of experience as a photographer. The Merkle Trail is barrier-free and offers universal access. The hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs. Please bring water, hats, and your camera. Location: Area 6

Pleasant Paddlers Program - Island Hop Breakfast Paddle - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come on out for a fun morning paddle and breakfast on the go! This paddle tour is slow and more of a social event. We will be visiting several islands where we will enjoy a breakfast item at each island. Get to know your fellow paddlers and enjoy a fun morning. You must have your own kayak or canoe on this paddle, there are no rentals at the launch site. Please call (602-372-7460 x 202)if you are in need of a rental kayak and we will return the call with a contact. You must wear a life vest, it is mandatory. Take some water in case you don't like the orange juice. We will meet near the 4 - lane boat launch area, look for the "Pleasant Paddlers" sign near the 4- lane. That's it, hope to see you for this years Island Hop Breakfast Paddle!

Rock Art of Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
December 7 Saturday 9:00 am Rock Art of Spur Cross (moderate) The petroglyphs found in Spur Cross were created hundreds of years ago by the Hohokam people. Come and walk in their footsteps as we visit a few of the more impressive sites in the park during this two-hour hike. No dogs on this hike please.

Wag ‘n’ Walk Adoption Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Don’t have a dog? No problem! Maricopa County’s Animal Care & Control and Parks and Recreation Departments have united to bring you this program. You can “test drive” potential canine hiking partners to see how they behave on leash and get along with other dogs, while learning about trail etiquette and safety. Owned, friendly, leashed dogs that are at least six months old and current on their vaccinations are welcome to join this one-mile trek on our scenic, groomed, Merkle Trail. Please bring water, closed-toe shoes, and an open heart for a possible new best friend, or two. This program will be held on the first Saturday of each month, from November through April. Location: Area 6.

San Tan Mountain Regional Park
****RESCHEDULED for January 3rd DUE TO WEATHER**** Come watch the sky with us! Look through telescopes (setup for your viewing pleasure) and enjoy a slide presentation under the stars. Learn the names of stars, see the constellations, and listen to stories of the night sky. When visible, view the craters of the moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and the rings of Saturn. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for your comfort. Information about the Challenger Learning Center of Arizona will be provided. This is a fun night out! Come alone or bring your entire family or group. We encourage you to bring your binoculars or family telescope and enjoy the views from San Tan Mountain Regional Park.
