Birding Adventure - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Hit the trails early to catch the masters of the sky in action. This guided 2 mile hike will take you deep into the heart of prime birding territory. Enjoy learning birding skills from our local expert. Whether you’re after Roadrunners or Ravens, Humming or Hawks, San Tan holds the key to an unforgettable birding adventure.

CLASS FULL Making Robin Hoods - Archery 101 9AM Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
THIS CLASS IS FULL, SEE SCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER DATE. Learn to shoot a recurve, compound, and cross bow. This 1.5 hour class is the first step in learning archery. Wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and bring some cold water. All equipment is provided. Call 602-372-7460 x 202 , and leave name, phone number, and how many people wishing to attend. Ranger will call to let you know if thre is room in the class (only 12 people per class). Follow the "Archery 101" signs from the main contact station to the group campground.

Usery Mountain Regional Park
This open-house style program features our ranger hiking along the Wind Cave Trail and stopping to talk to park visitors. Our ranger will be available to answer questions about the park, identify desert plants, or even explain which animals call Usery Park “home”. Carry ample water. 9am-Noon.

Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
December 16 Sunday 9:00 am Rocks and Streams Walk (moderate) Learn about the geology and streams of the Spur Cross region on a 2-hour walk with nationally-known earth science author, Thomas McGuire. Visit an abandoned gold mine, Nutcracker Rock and a Hohokam rock art site along Cottonwood Wash. Bring water and your natural curiosity. Meet in the Spur Cross parking area.

Join Ranger Amy for a “hands-on” introduction to the unique flora and fauna that make up this place we call the Sonoran Desert. Meet at the North Trail Trailhead.
