Fridays Fitness Hike - North (Chuparosa/Pemberton)- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. Meet at the NORTH Trailhead for this 2 hour hike along the North/Chuparosa/Pemberton Trails.

Interested about getting into bird watching but don’t know where to start? Want to know which bird is which and how to spot them? Join bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, for this introduction to bird watching as she guides you on a quarter-mile stroll along our Desert Hawk Trail. December 13 Friday 9:00 am Fitness Friday (moderate) Get your day started with a two to three mile brisk, non-interpretive walk. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to add diversity to their existing walking program. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

Hike the Wind Cave Trail - Usery Park

Why is the hike up to Wind Cave such a popular hike? Join us and find out! This difficult, 3-mile round-trip hike gains over 800 feet in elevation and presents some of the most spectacular scenery in the Valley! Please bring water, hats, snacks, and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Wind Cave Trailhead.

The Sonoran Desert is a wonderful and magical place full of mystery and surprises. Join us for a 3-mile hike along portions of the San Tan and Moonlight Trails, to uncover the special and delicate nature within San Tan Mountain Regional Park under the light from the moon and stars. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and proper hiking attire.

Movie Night in the Park: "Untamed Americas - Deserts" - Usery Park

When it comes to desert animals, the truth is often stranger than fiction! How about a mouse that howls? A lizard that uses chemical weapons? Penguins in the desert? Moths with sonar-jamming technology? This new National Geographic movie will highlight the strange and spectacular animals that call the desert “home.” Feel free to bring snacks and drinks with you (no glass bottles), otherwise, concessions are available.
