Fridays Fitness Hike – Trailhead Staging
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park- ALL Fridays Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. We build up to a longer hike at the end of the month. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water. This week's hike starts at the Trailhead Staging Area.

Friday Fitness Series #1
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
October 5 Friday 8:00 am Friday Fitness Series #1 (moderate) Join us for this first of a series of Friday walks which will get a little more difficult each week. This first walk will be the Metate/Spur Cross loop for a total of about 2 miles. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

Ever touched a snake? Join Ranger Amy for an up close and personal look at what makes these cold-blooded creatures so fascinating. Touch J.J. the gopher snake and meet 'Elvis' the uh...King...Snake. Bring the family, your camera, and your curiosity. This all-ages program will be indoors at our Nature Center.

Snake Feeding at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
You can learn about the habits of some of the creatures of the desert by coming into the Nature Center during feeding time. (Caution – creatures are fed live animals so this could be upsetting to some people or small children).

Desert Horror Stories Hike
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Imagine going on a dinner date when suddenly you find yourself on the menu. In the Sonoran Desert not everybody wants a simple salad for dinner. Find out which animals are eating their dates, poisoning their enemies, and hatching their eggs in an unsuspecting victim. These stories, while true, are not recommended for the faint of heart. Meet at the visitor center for an unforgettable night of Animal Horror Stories on an eerie 1.3 mile walk through the desert at night.
