Congestion on the Pemberton
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Saturday and Sunday, October 27th and 28th over 400 runners will be on the Pemberton Trail attempting to run 100 miles. Many other less congested trails will be available for you that weekend. However if you choose to ride or hike the Pemberton Trail follow proper trail etiquette and yield to all the runners.

Javelina Jundred Extreme Foot Race! Saturday AND Sunday
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
This popular extreme 100 mile foot race is scheduled to be held on the Full Moon weekend in October. The rolling terrain and great volunteer support make it a favorite every year. Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Come join naturalist Frank Meyerholtz at the Visitor Center for some insight into the Sonoran Desert and to stretch your legs on the Roadrunner Trail, a scenic short hike with Frank. Frank will be leading hikes on the hour until Noon.

Bring the kids and come learn all about the bats that live in our neighborhood. Make a bat trick-or-treat bag, play Bat Bingo and have a batty snack! Treats and prizes for all! This drop-in party takes place in our Visitor Center. Drop by anytime between 1 and 2pm.

Haunted HOWLoween Bash - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Join us for a night full of fright and delight as we discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert in the evening hours. Enjoy engaging animal presentations, frightfully fun shows (including a special show from the Phoenix Zoo), face painting, spooktacular activities and don't forget to get your picture taken at our Fairytale Photo station. Participate in the FRIENDS costume contest (costume contest categories are scariest, friendliest and most creative) for a chance to win a cool prize. Set out on a 1.3-mile adventure along the Trick or Treat and Spooktacular Trails while listening to frightening Halloween classics for kids. Don’t forget to wear your Halloween costumes and bring a bag or bucket to collect treats along the way. Flashlights are permitted and encouraged for the hike. Guides will be stationed along the trails for assistance. The hike and program is fun for all ages, so remember to bring the entire family. To expedite entry into the Park, it is recommended to bring exact cash or annual passes for entry. Event presented by the Friends of San Tan Mountain Regional Park.
