| Do you love a good mud bath in the morning? How about a beer as a complete part of your nutritious breakfast? Enlist today for the running of the 2nd Annual Mud, Sweat & Beers and enjoy plenty of both! If you think that you and your fellow recruits can maneuver through four miles of muddy obstacles then toast your accomplishment with a frosty brew at the finish line!
COURSE
Beginning and ending at the Four Peaks Staging area of McDowell Mountain Regional Park recruits can expect a four mile course, with six obstacles to navigate and a mud pit to finish.

WAVE START
Recruits will start in three waves based on their abilities. Each recruit chooses for him or herself the wave to start in.
1) Seal Team Six
The best of the best, these folks are in it to win it. (35 minutes or better for 4 miles without obstacles)
2) Infantry
Battle hardened and proven, these men and women are the backbone of Mud, Sweat and Beers (35 - 45 minutes for 4 miles without obstacles)
3) Doughboys
Fresh meat, these recruits are here for the beer! (45+ minutes for 4 miles without obstacles)

AWARDS

Participants need to be in good condition and familiar with what hiking on primitive trails for this distance entails. Participants must bring at least one liter of water. We recommend you have a hat, & dress in layers. No dogs on this hike please. |

| QuickStart Your Canoe -Beginner Flatwater Canoeing |

| If you've ever wanted to go canoeing but did't have the necessary skills, then QuickStart Your Canoe is the perfect training for you. This American Canoe Association course is designed to introduce the beginning paddler to basic canoe skills & knowledge so that you can enjoy the sport of tandem canoeing on flat water.
Everyone is invited to come to Cabela’s® (in Glendale) on Friday evening for an informational classroom session that is free to everyone. You do NOT neeed to register to attend the classroom session. We will discuss types of canoes, paddles, canoeing gear and safety tips. You will not get wet during the classroom session.
If you wish to participate in the 4-hour on-water paddle session at Lake Pleasant, arrive at 6:00pm on Friday to register for Saturday’s water session. You must attend the classroom session to participate in the on-water session. The registration fee for the on-the-water portion is $40 and class size is limited, so arrive early. Cash or check only please.
PLEASE NOTE: The Desert Outdoor Center is a gated facility, so you must be registered to attend. Gates will be open 30 minutes before each session begins. ***There is no boat ramp access to launch a boat at this facility, so please do not bring your personal watercraft. The boat dock is about a 1/4 mi down from the facility, so please be prepared for a desert hike.

Our “Ghost Rangers” will judge the best child, teen, and adult homemade bed sheet costumes. We will also enjoy free snacks and drinks, play some fun games, then listen to Ranger B’s funny-spooky stories around the bonfire in our amphitheater. Please bring a flashlight and closed-toe shoes.
