Fridays Fitness Hike - Trailhead Staging Area
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
ALL Fridays in January, 8:00am - 9:30am Fridays Fitness Hike – Various locations in Park Geared toward all levels of fitness…get your hike on! Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. It's a great way to get outdoors, meet people and get fit! Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water.

Find The Ranger - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Somewhere on the Goldmine Trail Ranger Adam will be exploring the desert. Test your skills and see if you can track him down. When you find him, ask him a question or just say hi. Ranger Adam will be waiting to answer your questions and show you all the unique desert wildlife he has spotted at the park. Please bring plenty of water.

Healthy Hiking at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
January 27 Friday 9:00 am Healthy Hiking (moderate) Join us for a 2.5 mile / 1.5 hour aerobic walk through a portion of the Conservation Area. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to begin or add diversity to their existing walking program.

Celestial Petroglyph Hike at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
This is a limited hike which means you have to make a reservation at 623-935-2505. Only 25 people are allowed on this hike into a restricted area of the park to view some very unusual petroglyphs. This is off trail so there is some rock hopping and climbing on this one and most of the walk is in sand so it can be a too strenuous for small children and those with physical limitations. Plan accordingly. No dogs on this hike please. Meet near the Area 7 at 10:00 am

All About Venomous Insects - Evening "Brown-Bag It" with Ranger B - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
A tarantula hawk? A velvet ant? A giant centipede? Do these things really live around here? How dangerous are they? How do they survive and thrive in the desert? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about venomous insects, then this one-hour presentation is for you! Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares some amazing facts about these creepy critters. Watch us feed our snakes after the program at 7pm. Then join our “Animal Hide & Seek Flashlight Walk” at 7:30pm at no extra cost!

Animal "Hide and Seek" Flashlight Walk - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
We are the nocturnal animals of the desert and we like to hide. Help Ranger B find us if you can! If you would like to learn about us and enjoy a night walk in the desert, then join Ranger B as he takes you on this exciting 1-mile/1-hour walk along the Merkle Trail. The Merkle Trail offers universal access and the hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring water, a flashlight, and closed-toe shoes. No pets, please. Location: Area 6. Join our “All About Venomous Insects” program inside our Nature Center at 6pm, and our snake feeding at 7pm at no extra cost!
