Exploring the Dragonfly Trail - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
January 22 Wednesday 9:00 am Exploring the Dragonfly Trail (moderate) Come along with park docent Tammy Teegardin on this exploration of the newest trail in the Spur Cross trail system, the Dragonfly Trail. On this moderate 3.5 mile hike we will visit a prehistoric rock art site and also stroll along a beautiful section of riparian habitat on Cave Creek.

Home School Program: Animal CSI: - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Can you be the first to solve the animal print mystery? Let’s find out. Bring your 6-inch ruler and two 1-quart sized Ziplock bags, and camera (if you have one) because we have an investigation to do. From measuring animal prints to collecting data, you are sure to earn the position of Lead Animal Detective. Join Ranger Tish for this fun and informative program that is sure to bring out the detective in you. Attendance to prior program not required. Indoor/outdoor. Weather permitting. 1.5 hours. Ages 7 and up. Meet inside the Visitor Center.

Basics of Bird Watching - Usery Park***CANCELLED***
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested about getting into bird watching but don’t know where to start? Want to know which bird is which and how to spot them? Join bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, for this introduction to bird watching as she guides you on a quarter-mile stroll along our Desert Hawk Trail. Bring binoculars if you have them, otherwise, Sandy has some to loan. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Nature Center.

Meandering the Merkle - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
You never know what you’re going to find out in our desert! Join desert afficionado, Susan Peters, on this 1-mile/1-hour stroll along the Merkle Trail in search of desert plants, animals, and whatever else interests you. The Merkle Trail offers universal access and the hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Please bring your questions, a bottle of water, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Area 6.
