Exploring the Dragonfly Trail - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
January 16 Wednesday 9:00 am Exploring the Dragonfly Trail (moderate) Come along with park docent Tammy Teegardin on this exploration of the newest trail in the Spur Cross trail system, the Dragonfly Trail. On this moderate 3.5 mile hike we will visit a prehistoric rock art site and also stroll along a beautiful section of riparian habitat on Cave Creek.

Home School- Gold Rush - San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
If your kids are ready to go on an educational adventure, then join us for another exciting Home School at the Park. Get involved as we explore the “rich” history of San Tan during an exciting series of mining inspired activities, with an opportunity to pan for real gold. Please bring water and wear closed toed shoes. This class and hike (roughly 0.5-miles) are designed for children 5 and up.

Wildlife Safari - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
We all love to see wild animals, but where are they hiding this time of year? Join us on this exciting 1.5-mile wildlife safari as we sneak to the secret places where the park’s wildlife is often seen. Feel free to bring your camera and binoculars. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Ancient Petroglyph Walk - McDowell- Youth Camp Area
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
McDowell‘s Hohokam petroglyphs are one of the best kept secrets in the Park. This is a very short (less than 1 mile) walk up a steep hill and in a sandy wash to see some rarely-seen smaller petroglyphs. Non-strenuous, but please wear sturdy shoes. Meet at Youth Group Area (last right-hand turn in park).
