Solid Waste Management has 30 employees. The majority of our personnel work at the county’s solid waste facilities as Station Attendants, Truck Drivers, Landfill Technicians and Equipment Operators. Solid Waste’s Director, Executive Assistance and Program Coordinator work at the Durango Complex.
We manage and maintain 10 closed landfills, 6 waste transfer stations and 2 waste tire recycling centers. Maricopa County has over 4 million residents and our stations service area covers more than 200,000 residents.

Our mission is to provide convenient, safe and economical waste disposal services for unincorporated residents of Maricopa County and perform post-closure landfill service to protect public health and the environment.
