Welcome!
The office of the Maricopa County Superintendent of Schools provides programs and services to 59 school
districts and more than 250 charter schools throughout Maricopa County. Dr. Sandra E. Dowling and her
staff are committed to working with local, state and federal entities to identify and service the
educational needs of Maricopa County schools.
As an Educational Service Agency (ESA) the
Maricopa County Schools office applies for funding and administers programs
in support of the Arizona Academic Standards. The Educational Services division
provides professional development opportunities in the areas of Reading, Writing,
Mathematics, Science, History, ELL and special needs.
 The office also works with
small rural districts through the Maricopa County Small Schools Consortium, providing
special services, grant support and professional development in many academic areas.
