Dental Insurance
The Maricopa County Department of Public Health's Office of Oral Health administers a dental insurance program for residents of Maricopa and Pinal County who are living with HIV/AIDS and have an income that is 300% or less of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.

Dental Sealant Program
Maricopa County's Office of Oral Health administers the Arizona Department of Health Services' School-based Dental Sealant Program and the Delta Dental Foundation of AZ Sealant Program. These programs provide dental screenings and sealants to 2nd and 6th grade children attending schools where at least 40% of the students participate in the Arizona Department of Education National School Lunch Program. These preventive services are at no cost to the school or child. Interested schools can call to check their eligibility and get additional information.

Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Training for Dental Professionals
This program* provides continuing education to dental professionals. The course emphasizes the oral manifestations of tobacco use and the critical role that dental professionals play in alleviating the debilitating and costly public health problem of tobacco use.
* Funded by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Tobacco Education and Prevention
The purpose of these classes is to equip clinicians with consistent and evidence-based strategies for effectively intervening with their tobacco-using patients. The classes will help providers to improve their ability and capacity to incorporate these strategies into their practice setting.
The following are some of the programs and trainings we offer:
Speakers Bureau - Continuing Education for dental professionals (2 CEs):

Can be held in the dental office

Encourages dental professionals to intervene with their tobacco-using patients and recognize the impact tobacco has on general health, oral health, and particularly on oral cancer

Reviews head and neck cancer exams, the link between tobacco and oral cancer, and explains new technologies available to aid with early diagnosis
Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification (4 free hours of CEU/CME):

Designed for anyone interested in assisting a tobacco user in the quitting process

Provides techniques on how to:

Presents information to enable participants to better understand the complexities of tobacco dependence

Introduces effective use of patient education materials to encourage cessation

Assists with skill building so participants can practice delivering effective cessation interventions

Provides referral information about available intensive cessation services and resources

Awards four (4) hours of CEU or CME credits
