
Arizona Coalition for Healthcare Emergency Response - Central Region (AzCHER)
OVERVIEW
The Arizona Coalition for Healthcare Emergency Response - Central Region (AzCHER) is composed of selected membership from public and private healthcare organizations (hospitals and clinics) and emergency response organizations engaged in emergency response planning.
MISSION
To facilitate collaboration among healthcare and community organizations to prepare for, respond to, and recover from an emergency or disaster.
VISION
To be recognized as a leader in promoting healthcare emergency preparedness through education, networking, and resource sharing.
GOAL
To unify management capability of healthcare systems in Arizona to a level that will be necessary if the normal day-to-day operations or standard operating procedures of health systems are overwhelmed and disaster operations become necessary through effective communications, management of resources, and a collaborative response planning. This will be accomplished through the following activities:

Coordinate and improve the delivery of healthcare emergency response services.

Foster communication between local, regional and state entities on community-wide emergency planning and response.

Ensuring overall readiness through coordination of community-wide training and exercises.

Promote preparedness in the healthcare community through standardized practices and integration with other response partners.
