On Jan. 25-26, 2011, healthcare leaders from Gila, Maricopa and Pinal Counties gathered to exchange information and ideas about how best to create an Alternate Care System (ACS) for Central Arizona. Representatives of Central Arizona healthcare sectors came together to consider an important question for the entire community: What kind of model can we create to care for the ill and injured during a disaster?
