Meet on-site with child care providers to assess health and safety practices.

Make recommendations to improve health and safety-assuring compliance with licensing regulations.

Assist with developing or updating health and safety policy and procedures.

Provide education and training on a variety of health and safety topics for child care staff and parents.

Provide nutrition and physical activities information, including ideas for combating obesity.

Provide referrals to community services.

Assist in the coordination of care and access to immunizations, health, mental health, dental and developmental screenings.

Provide telephone advice to child care providers.
Quality First Services:
Additional services are available for Quality First! participants. You may apply here.

Participation in Quality First is voluntary. Multiple financial and support incentives are built in to encourage provider participation.

First Things First statewide funds provides support for 300 child care settings (200 centers and 100 homes) with funding from various Regional Partnership Councils to support additional participants.

Quality First seeks to establish a culture of continuous improvement toward higher levels of quality to be defined as 3 to 5 stars when the rating system is implemented.
Who can use CCHC Services?

Families can call with questions regarding their child in care.

Child care programs can call for assistance and guidance.

Health care providers can make a referral to the Child Care Health Consultant program.

Agencies which provide monitoring or resources to child care programs can make a referral for services.
