MCbiz’s Sustainable Operating Strategies (SOS) Workshop provided Small Businesses with several “Recipes for Success”
Entrepreneurs gained insight into sustaining and growing their business at yesterday’s MCbiz SOS Workshop, which was held at Maricopa Workforce Connection’s West Valley Career Center. Many “recipes for success” were shared with small business owners. The information nurtured and encouraged the entrepreneurs despite today’s challenging economy.
Prizes were awarded at this NO COST workshop due to the generosity of John Hrimnak, a serial entrepreneur with an inspiring rags-to-riches story (www.richnowrichforlife.com), who now shares his methods for everyone who desires to follow the same path to financial stability and abundance, and Major Williams of Kukura Business Solutions (mwilliams@kukurasolutions.com), who volunteers as an advisor for the Athena Powerlink Governing Board and Small Business Leadership Council of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
The group of small business owners were also thankful to Andrew Perona and Art Lampe, Financial Advisors/Waddell & Reed (alampe@wradvisors.com; adperona@wradvisors.com) for providing them with refreshments. The team of financial advisors analyzed the role of small business owners in establishing healthy spending and saving habits through an introduction of Waddell & Reed’s unique employer/employee Financial Wellness Program.
Nelson Mitchell, Public Relations Coordinator/Maricopa County Library District (www.mcldaz.org) presented an overview of the district’s 15 libraries and how they can be used to maximum benefit to support business goals.
Granison Shines, CEO/Shines Marketing (www.shinesmarketing.com) will demonstrated how to systematize the copywriting, marketing, and product development processes through his proven proprietary system, which can help business owners to better market products & services to create maximum sales – therefore increasing their “Bottom-Line” profitability.
Angel Orozco and Dennis Bourgeois, Senior VPs/Colonia Bank (www.coloniabankaz.com) , assisted business owners in determining how best to prep for bank financing, which is especially key now that most credit markets are experiencing some tightening. Colonia Bank, noted Angel Orozco, is lending to small businesses via its banking solutions/products.
Andres Chagolla, MCbiz Manager (www.maricopa.gov/mcbiz), provided an overview of the County’s small business registration and certification process. His message also included the suggestion that business owners treat themselves every once and a while in order to get away from the ubiquitous, negative frames of mind connected to the challenges in the current economy. “Read a book or experiment by preparing a new recipe.” Andres continues to share his family’s recipes in MCbiz’s Recipes for Success Series. This time he shared a recipe for Bunuelos – a sweet treat.
MCbiz and partner presenters offer a variety of workshops to assist small businesses to grow and become more competitive. For more information about the Maricopa County Small Business Enterprise Program visit www.maricopa.gov/mcbiz or via email: achagolla@mail.maricopa.gov.
